RANTOUL -- People here are stepping in to support tornado victims. Members of the First United Methodist Church met to collect donations Thursday.

Items like blankets, clothing and canned goods are being brought in. It was a way for volunteers to be proactive in assisting their neighboring community.

They understand if the storm had tracked just a little further west, it could be them cleaning up.

The group will meet again Friday and Saturday to collect more donations. Volunteers say items like cleaning supplies, men's toiletries, milk and eggs are most needed.
