CHAMPAIGN -- For the past few years, Indiana has taken businesses away from Illinois. But now, developers from Indiana are bringing a national business to Champaign.

Gander Mountain is headed to north Prospect after getting a store for pennies on the dollar. City council members approved the plan for the new business to be located in the old Circuit City. The building has been vacant for about two years.

While hunters and fishermen should be excited for the new store, it's even bigger news for Champaign. That's because developers will be sinking $6.1 million into the new store.

There are five other Gander Mountains in the state. The Champaign store is one of eleven new stores opening up around the country.

Mayor Don Gerard says developers at Gander Mountain are chomping at the bit to get started. He expects to see it open in the summer.
