DANVILLE -- An area fire department has a new contract. It took two years of talks to come up with a deal. Major sticking points were salaries and the cost of healthcare.

Firefighters will get a retroactive pay raise of 2% for 2011 and 2012, 2.5% for 2013. But, now they'll pay 11% of their healthcare benefits. Previously, they paid a fraction of that.

Union leaders say they're happy it's all over. The union wanted a four-year deal, but both sides settled on three, which means they'll be right back at the bargaining table in January, 2014.
