CHAMPAIGN -- A new truck is helping win the battle against potholes. Public Works unveiled a new tool Tuesday. The patch truck sprays rock and oil.

City leaders say there are many benefits to using it, especially cost. Materials used for this truck cost about half of materials for older ones, and not as many workers are needed to operate it.

The truck has been patching streets since May. It's capable of fixing about 600 potholes/week.
