Jamar Brown originally voted 'yes' on the plan. He says because he thought school improvements would happen in the upcoming school year. But after learning the time table would change, he said so did his vote.
The school board was set to vote on the issue again at Monday's meeting. It didn't happen because bids have already been put out on work for school projects. Those include putting in air conditioners at the middle school and improving the district bus barn.
Brown's one vote would not change the plan, but Brown is not backing down.
"That's what I wanted to just change my vote from a yes to a no. But I still do support the work being done, so I will still continue to move forward to get the work done in the district because I don't want to stop that work," Brown said.
Whether he's able to change is vote is up in the air.
The district still has to make a decision on contracts. A timetable for that is unknown.
