CNN -- The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) wants to toughen alcohol limits for drivers. Tuesday, the NTSB voted to recommend states lower the blood alcohol limit to 0.05. It's currently 0.08 in all 50-states.

NTSB officials say lowering the standard will help save lives. This is only a recommendation. The NTSB has no authority to make laws or regulations.
