CHAMPAIGN -- A police officer is thankful a scary call had a good outcome. He responded to a call of a 3-year old girl wandering around campus on East John Street Thursday morning.

He took her hand when he got there and they walked from building-to-building in campus-town trying to find where she lived. He says his experience as a dad, not an officer, helped him keep her calm. The officer was able to reunite the child with her parent in about 45 minutes.
