Officials cancel burn ban & announce debris collection

MCLEAN COUNTY -- Officials are lifting the burn ban Wednesday, August 15. It was put into effect two weeks ago. Authorities say people should still keep an eye on any open fires, and someone must remain on site while a fire is burning to keep it under control.

The county's Emergency Management Agency is also offering pickup and removal of tree debris generated during Thursday's storms. Homeowners doing work on their property can haul manageable size sections to the curb for pickup.

If a professional service has been contracted to work a homeowner's property, it is the responsibility of that company to haul away collected debris.
