CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) -- OSF HealthCare has reached a multi-year agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) to ensure patients who choose to receive care at its Urbana and Danville hospitals have access to extensive high quality, in-network, medical care and services.
The agreement is effective immediately and retroactive to February 1. Patients with BCBSIL insurance who received care at either OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center or OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center since February 1 will have their account reflect these hospitals’ in-network participation status.
OSF HealthCare is still in discussions with HealthLink and remains hopeful of reaching an agreement on a new contract.
OSF HealthCare has completed agreements with more than 30 insurance products with payers covering employer, individual, Medicare Advantage, and Managed Medicaid plans.
These payers include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Health Alliance, Aetna, Coventry, United Healthcare, Cigna, Humana, Meridian, Molina and VA Choice.
