When you're here, whether it's a day of history at New Salem or an afternoon exploring the rolling hills, you're sure to work up a hearty appetite. That's where Gillmore's Cafe comes in.
"It's just like home."
It's been the town's kitchen for more than 20-years, serving up heaping spoonfuls of good old fashioned comfort food.
"I like their chicken. I think it's really good."
That's what Gillmore's is famous for and you can always find it in their lunch-time buffet alongside an ever-changing menu of good eats. Don't forget dessert.
"What makes the food here so good?"
"It's home cooked, like a home-cooked meal."
Owner Rich Gillmore says he takes pride in his made-from-scratch food because that's the way his family has done it for decades. It's also what keeps hungry customers coming back day-after-day.
"How often do you come here?"
"Every Friday for sure."
There's even an elite group of regulars who make Gillmore's their first stop every single morning for a cup of coffee and good conversation.
"It's 7 days a week, it's 365 days a year, but the good point about it is the customers you get to meet. The people you get to deal with on a daily basis and there's somebody different that you get to talk to from all over the country and all over the world."
Gillmore's is open for breakfast and lunch every day.
