A different church also stands out. The First United Methodist Church is a tall building made of bricks, but once you get inside, you're likely to notice what's on the windows more so than the walls.
The church on the corner of Main and Stone was built in 1912. But about 50 years before that, a different group called the building its base.
Pastor Matt Filicsky says, "This was a group of soldiers from this area and then they would form a company and that company would get sent to wherever the battles were. Wherever they were needed."
Soldiers came there before serving in the Civil War. Now, alongside scenes from the Bible, two of their captain's faces adorn stained glass windows in the chapel.
"When I first started, I thought, 'Wow! That's different.' But, I've kind of gotten used to the captains up there," says Filicsky.
Filicsky is a veteran. Many members of his congregation have also been part of the service. Now that they're back, they try to help others by cooking up monthly community dinners which don't cost a cent.
Filicsky says, "A member donated the money for that first meal. The money has never really dried up since. There's always enough left over each month."
So, whether they got a call from the President or a higher power, people in Our Town say they're proud to serve.
The church started doing those dinners in 2009. They're on the last Saturday of the month. People from many other churches in town, aside from that one, also pitch in to make the meal.
