CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Roads around Champaign-Urbana will soon be filled with Chevys. The Bloomington Gold Corvette Show officially kicks off Friday, but vendors and car lovers have been getting ready all week.

People are gearing up for a fun weekend. Preview Day was Thursday, but there's going to be a lot more action starting Friday morning when it opens to the public.

People come from all over the world to the University of Illinois Campus. There are tents and vendors set up outside the State Farm Center. That's where you'll find new cars, classic cars and even pieces of cars or accessories.

Some people say they go to a lot of shows like this so they get to know other big car enthusiasts pretty well and they get to be friends.

James Gallucci, of Dublin, Ohio, says, "I'm here a little early, but it's exciting. It's like a fair. It's a Corvette fair, so it's a fun thing to do. I know all the people here."

Betty Boop was another of the Corvette fans who got to the show a day early. This event has been a tradition in Illinois for 40 years. This is the second year it's been in Champaign.

Also this weekend, there will be "Goldschool," where you can take different classes about cars. The "Goldtour" is set for Saturday evening when drivers take a trip to Monticello and back in their Corvettes.
