UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- The UI is sending out a bright reminder ahead of a colorful project. The university is fighting pollution through art.

It painted sidewalks as a reminder not to leave trash on the streets. When it rains, trash can find its way into storm drains and cause flooding or pollution.

The university also partnered with the Public Art League. Artists will paint storm drains to remind people to clean up. That project is expected to be finished by the end of October.
