If one runner trips, it could cause a domino-effect, especially on some parts of the route when races are packed in tightly. That's why public works officials have been talking with race organizers to make sure the route stays safe.

Crews are using three different treatments to make sure the holes are fixed and they plan to be on the lookout during the next few days to make sure they stay that way.
