Person of interest in shooting arrested

FARMER CITY -- Police arrested a Paxton man in connection with Sunday's shooting of a Danville man. 27-year old Jesse Emmerson faces a class X felony for aggravated battery with a firearm.

36-year old Jason Allison was wounded in the shooting. No word on his condition.

Emmerson is being held without bond pending arraignment. The shooting is still under investigation.

FARMER CITY -- Police are investigating a shooting. It happened Sunday, about 9:15 pm.

Authorities say a man walked into Huck's Convenience Store suffering a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, but there's no word on his condition.

Officials say a person of interest is in police custody pending further investigation.

DeWitt County Sheriff Jered Shofner says there is no connected between this shooting and Saturday's murder. He stated charges are expected to be filed Monday in connection to the homicide.
