Pipe-bomb conspirator to be sentenced next year

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- A Bloomington woman will be sentenced in January after admitting to conspiracy in a pipe-bomb incident. Tuesday, Linda Sue Curtis, 57, pleaded guilty to conspiring with Lloyd Lockwood to possessing a pipe bomb which was placed in a mailbox belonging to victims in Decatur.

Lockwood was convicted in August of 2013 and sentenced to ten years in federal prison. Curtis is on bond. She faces five years in prison and a fine up to $250,000.

MACON COUNTY -- A Bloomington man is going to prison for ten years. Last year, 47-year old Lloyd Lockwood was convicted of putting a pipe-bomb in a Decatur mailbox. It happened three years ago. A federal judge gave him the maximum sentence. After sentencing, he was detained by U.S. Marshals.
