CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Saturday, experts showed families how to Play It Safe. The annual event teaches people what to do in case of a tornado, fire or even how to wear a bike helmet. Families interacted with firefighters, air-lift medics and police.

Organizers believe kids will remember safety tips better if they're having fun. A focus on lawnmower and cooking safety were new this year. This is the 18th year the county and Carle Hospital have put on the free event.
