CHAMPAIGN -- Champaign and University of Illinois police were at Texas Roadhouse Friday morning, but they weren't there to fight crime. They came out to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics.

Texas Roadhouse provided a free lunch, and guests were asked to donate whatever they could. Police say the best-tasting dish was the community support.

"This is amazing," said UI police officer Beth Visel. "I am absolutely astounded at the support that we get from the local community. This is great. We're getting people from all over that are traveling just to visit and support the great cause of the Special Olympics."

Some athletes themselves were there to see the support. Police raised more than $5,000 at last year's fundraiser.
