CHAMPAIGN -- We've come to expect robocalls from politicians around election time. But you may be surprised to see what's showing up on some caller ID's.

People around Central Illinois say they've been getting messages from Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner. But that's not who the display says is calling. Instead it says "Maize Mexican Grill." That's a restaurant in Champaign. But owner Armando Sandoval says he has no idea how this happened.

Sandoval says he just heard it was happening this week. People would get a phone call, see his restaurant's name on the caller ID and then hear a message from Citizens for Bruce Rauner. The number wasn't his, so he looked it up online. Sandoval found out other people have been getting the same message and thinking it was him on the other line.

"I don't know how they picked the name, but it's our name," said Sandoval. "It was just really weird. I tried calling them too but I didn't get any answer."

Sandoval says he even got the call on his home number. He says his restaurant is not affiliated with Rauner's campaign or any other. Sandoval says people have been interpreting it in different ways and he just doesn't want to be misrepresented. He says when someone gets a call from Maize, he hopes it really is them and not someone else.

We called that phone number and it took us to the same message. So we reached out to the Rauner campaign. They said they made a mistake and they've updated it with the correct information.
