Statewide median prices fell 9.3% from $135,000 to $122,500. The weakest January the past decade was 2009 when just 4,809 homes were sold according to the association's data.
More than half Illinois counties reporting (53/95) showed year-over-year home sales increases last month. 39-counties showed year-over-year median price increases including Effingham (+2.7% to $131,000); McLean (+3.2% to $152,000); Peoria (+45.3% to $138,000); and Sangamon (+.7% to $120,750).
