DECATUR -- One man is leading a project he believes will change the future for thousands of students in the future. Phil Hazenfield graduated from Eisenhower in 1963.

Nowadays he's helping build a brand new building in a multimillion dollar project. It's been a life-long dream of his. He's now project manager for the renovation of both MacArthur and Eisenhower.

Hazenfield's 50th high school reunion is this year. He can't wait to share his work with old classmates.

He says construction on Eisenhower is right on schedule and should be done in November. Kids will then get to move into their brand new building in January.

Hazenfield says MacArthur's renovations are also on schedule. Construction will begin this November and by completed by November 2014.

$76 million went to the project. Some people think the money should have gone elsewhere.
