NATIONAL -- Senator Dick Durbin (D) is teaming up with the UI's Student Senate to push for new legislation called the Affordable College Textbook act. It will put cheaper price-tags on books and create a giant program to put them online.

Students spent about $1,200/year on books. Studies show, a lot of students won't buy them at all because of high prices.
