CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Work will continue on the Interstate 57 / 74 interchange. Originally, the Illinois Department of Transportation said work on the ramps would be finished by Friday. Now, that will be extended for another week, maybe two.
Crews still need to put down a high-friction surface treatment in an effort to reduce the number of accidents. IDOT says to be on the lookout for construction signs and detour routes. However, no ramps will be closed this weekend.
CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Exit ramps along Interstate 74 are being worked on this week. The ramp taking eastbound traffic to I-57 north was closed Monday. It should reopen by Tuesday morning. As soon as that's done, the westbound ramp to I-57 north will close. It should be open by Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.
