CHAMPAIGN -- The mayor's dream of bringing a minor league baseball team to town may hit a roadblock. A new report shows the UI could stand in the way.

A student-run consulting group did all the research. It found season ticket holders may not be interested in a minor league team. And, UI sports could be too big of a competitor.

But, Mayor Don Gerard says a new stadium would offer more than just baseball. The city council will discuss the issue after members meet for a study session.
