SPRINGFIELD -- A longtime Chicago democrat is stepping down. Representative Connie Howard (D-Chicago) resigned this month for "personal reasons."

The lawmaker was at the center of a bribery scandal in 2009. Federal prosecutors were looking at grant money she'd given. She announced last year she wouldn't run for re-election.
