CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Tornado victims in Moore, OK, are getting help from donors in Central Illinois. Applebee's restaurants in Champaign and Savoy are accepting donations for the cause.

The act of charity is especially heartfelt for new manager, Joe Brown. He says he survived Hurricane Ivan in 2004 when it hit Gulf Shores, Alabama. Brown says the storm left him homeless and uprooted his life.

Applebee's is accepting a range of donations, including canned food, toiletries and clothing. Donors will get 10% off their food bill. The drive runs through Tuesday. Then the items will be taken to the Salvation Army and delivered to Oklahoma.
