SPRINGFIELD -- Illinois' roads are in for a major makeover. Governor Quinn announced a six-year plan to improve them.

It includes resurfacing about 30-miles between I-74 University and the Middle Fork of the Vermilion River in Danville. It will also widen Highcross Road between U.S. 150 and Windsor Road.

In all, the state will improve more than 2,000 miles of highways. It will cost the state more than $12-billion.
