CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- State regulators approved the final route for a new Ameren transmission line. It will go through Macon, Moultrie, Coles and Clark counties.

That was the original route proposed, but after opposition to the plan, an alternate route through Piatt and Douglas counties was looked at. The Illinois Commerce Commission believes the original route makes more sense.
