Sales tax for school support to be on ballot

TUSCOLA -- Voters around the state will head to the polls Tuesday. Douglas County voters will see a proposal for a sales tax increase on the ballot.

It would raise it by 1% to 8.25%. The money would go toward helping local schools. It's something some voters say is a must.

The increase is expected to bring in about $380,000. Schools have been struggling with state funding cuts this year.
