DANVILLE -- A city staple is going out of business on 855 East Fairchild Street. The Salvation Army store has been trying to stay afloat, but Saturday will be its last day.

Leaders say it's not making enough money to pay the bills. Three employees will be out of work.

"It means a lot. It means a whole lot especially these days with people getting laid off. They just don't have the money anymore," said shopper Tom Tyler.

The Salvation Army hopes to reopen the store in a different location, but doesn't know if that's possible.
