SPRINGFIELD -- Police are warning the public about a scam. A man and woman called the victim on separate occasions and claimed to be taking a survey for a new Hy-Vee store.

The second call offered to put the victim's name in a drawing since she took part in the survey. The suspect told the victim he had to bring store coupons to her residence and stated, if she was married, her husband must also be present. When she asked why, the suspect stated there was something else he wanted to show them.

Representatives from Hy-Vee say they are not doing any surveys in the area. Police remind you to never give out personal information over the phone. If you think you've been the victim of a scam call police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
