CHAMPAIGN -- A school board member has stepped down from his position. Scott MacAdam submitted his letter of resignation at Monday night's board meeting.

MacAdam says he's leaving because of heart-related health issues. He says he regrets he can't help more with the new high school and other big issues, but says he supports the current plan and wishes the best for Unit Four.

MacAdam is the fourth board member to resign in the past year and a half. The district has 45 days to fill the position.
