CHAMPAIGN -- Unit 4 school leaders are looking for new substitute teachers. Every year, they hold a recruitment fair at the Mellon Administration Building. Tuesday, dozens came to interview for the chance to lead a class.

The Champaign School District needs about 200 subs every year. A substitute teacher must have a bachelor's degree and pass a background check. District leaders say once you have your substitute license, you can work anywhere in the state.
