URBANA -- After months in the making, an all-boys school in Urbana-Champaign is becoming a reality. There's been talk of creating an all-boys middle school for years. Now, it's happening.

Campus Middle School for Boys will be inside First United Methodist Church, on Race Street. The school says it wanted something close to campus and the church has everything it needs.

First United Methodist sits near Lincoln Square and now, this school has the whole top floor. Six to seven classrooms will soon be filled with boys from the area.

Many of them have parents like Scott Carney. He saw the success of the Campus School for Girls, but had boys and wanted the same opportunities for them. The school is set to open in August 2014.

Administrators say they believe the classes will be full. Since the school operates on grants and private tuition, they're taking donations for the school. Gym equipment, desks and chairs are just a few of the things needed.
