OAKWOOD -- Some students in Vermilion County stayed home from school Friday, but it wasn't because of the snow. A water main break happened on the corner of Scott and Park streets.

The mayor says cold weather mixed with old pipes is likely the cause. That break has been fixed, but the city had to shut off water in order to test it. It will likely stay that way until Saturday morning.

It's one of many snow days students, teachers and parents have had this year. One family says it's just rolling with the punches.

The break affected about 1,600 people. The mayor says this type of thing has happened many times before. He's confident water will be restored Saturday.
