DANVILLE -- Through the frigid week, local people have been making sure to check on the elderly in their neighborhoods. The CRIS Healthy Aging Center would usually be full of people during the day, playing games and taking classes. But, leaders have been telling them to stay home because of the weather.

Their drivers deliver meals to seniors twice a week. This week, they made extra calls to make sure everyone was OK. All 800 were accounted for and safe.

The group also gives seniors rides to doctors' appointments and other places in the area. They haven't been able to do much of that lately, but hope to be back in full service Thursday.
