CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- Research shows owning a pet can help you stay healthy. The Champaign County Humane Society is helping senior citizens adopt pets.

It matches older dogs and cats with older owners. The shelter says people don't realize how much easier older animals can be. They require little to no training, but they're still loving and laid-back.

In this "Seniors for Seniors" program, adoption fees are waived for cats and dogs are just half-price. Those interested just have to be 60-years or older.
