SHELBYVILLE -- The Shelby County Board has finally reached an agreement with the sheriff's department. After months of negotiating, it approved a four year pay raise contract for deputies.

Deputies will get an additional $1,500 a year, and janitorial workers and other office staff will get $1,000. The contract is an extension of one which expired in September.
