DECATUR -- Local and state leaders hope a new shipyard will give Central Illinois a big economic boost. The ADM port project is open.

Company leaders say it offers Central Illinois businesses a faster way to ship. It can handle up to 150,000 containers each year.

If used to its full potential, the port could double the state's exports and put hundreds of people to work. The governor says Decatur is the perfect spot for the port because it's close to three major railways and five major highways.
