CHAMPAIGN -- Small businesses which offer healthcare can soon see a tax break. Before the employer can get that tax break, they must be paying the healthcare premiums for employees.

In the past, the maximum tax credit for doing that was 35%. Now that credit can increase to 50%. In the past two year, premiums for the owner of Weiskamp Screen Printing have increased from 10 to 25%. He said he welcomes the change.

A small business is one with fewer than 25-employees. The Chamber of Commerce held a question-and-answer session between members and the governor's office. They say things are still confusing for most, but they'll continue to try to figure it all out.
