UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- One of the things you carry with you the most could soon monitor your heart. Researchers at UI created the "Gait Track" app. It's for smartphones.

It counts your steps, measures how fast you walk, and in the end, tells your doctor a lot about your heart health. The app is still in the testing phase. Next year, researchers hope to hold a trial run.
