RANTOUL -- Police were involved in an hours-long standoff Monday. Investigators say a man called a crisis line saying he might hurt himself or others. When officers arrived, he wouldn't come outside.

Authorities evacuated the complex while crisis negotiators worked with the subject. After a few hours, Police Chief Paul Farber says one of the man's family members called him and convinced him to meet with officers.

No one was hurt and no criminal charges have been filed. Even though UI Bomb Squad trucks were there, Farber says there were no explosives.
