ILLINOIS -- More homeowners in the state are being foreclosed on compared to other states. In fact, Illinois is fifth highest in the country when it comes to foreclosures.

Nationally, foreclosure rates are the lowest they've been since 2006. Even though Illinois is doing better, we're still one of the highest in the country.

RealtyTrac's U.S. Foreclosure Market Report for February shows a 10% decrease from January. That's down 27% from February 2013.

But overall, Illinois' rate is higher than the national average. States with higher foreclosure rates than Illinois are Florida, Maryland, Nevada and New Jersey.

County foreclosure rates for Sangamon, Macon and Champaign are all lower than the state and national rates.
