ILLINOIS -- The Land of Lincoln continues to be a popular destination for tourists. Illinois had its third straight record-breaking year in 2013.

The state welcomed almost 106 million visitors. More than two million were from foreign countries. That's a 3% increase.

The bottom line? Visitors spent more than $34 billion here last year, generating nearly $3 billion in state and local taxes.
