RANTOUL -- Volunteers are putting together a special delivery for troops this holiday season, but they need your help. The program is called Stockings for Soldiers. It's in its fifth year, but this year is different from the rest.

Organizers are very low on donations. Volunteers know it has a lot to do with the disaster relief going on in Central Illinois, so now they're hoping for a miracle. They're only halfway to their goal.

Volunteers are shipping off the stockings Saturday. They're in need of things like hand and foot warmers, toilet paper and snacks.

Organizers know there are lot of people in need right now. They've been to Gifford and Washington and witnessed the devastation. They just hope people will continue to support those we can't see.

"We need to remember that those guys are out there. They still want a piece of home. They're not going to be home for Thanksgiving or Christmas and they need not to be forgotten," organizer AnneMarie Gallahue said.

Organizers will be boxing up stockings Friday and mailing them to platoons Saturday.
