Student will play in the Grammys

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) -- A student from Champaign will be playing at the Grammys in New York City. After submitting a audition tape to the Grammy Foundation, they selected Max Hubbard from Central High School to play with 17 others at the awards show. He says he's been playing the saxophone since he was six, and had his eye on this organization for two years.

"The experience is going to be awesome but also the learning experience as well. They're the best high school musicians in the country. when I go off to conservatories, when I go to New York City and I want to play, all the people I'm going to be playing with at the Grammys are people I'm going to be playing with in the future" said Hubbard.

He says he will also be playing at the Grammy After Party, walking the red carpet, and recording an album.
