DANVILLE -- Students are doing what they can to help people -- and their pets -- in Gifford. The high school's shop class is making dog houses for storm survivors. They already had six ready to go. Teens are working on another six now. Their teacher says they already planned to make them as part of their class, but now they're more motivated to make them just right.

The first shipment of dog houses will head to Gifford on Wednesday. The class would also be willing to make small sheds for people who need it. If you can cover the cost of materials, they will build you one for free.
