Students give helping "hand" to Sandy victims

WESTVILLE -- One school is giving victims of Sandy a "hand." Students at the junior high school are collecting work gloves and hand warmers.

New York firefighter Bill Gleason is heading here next week to talk to students about his experience as a 9/11 first responder. When he heads home, he's taking the donations with him for people affected by Hurricane Sandy.

School leaders say it's a good chance for kids to learn how to help others and a lesson in history. Donations can be dropped off at the junior high until Monday.
