URBANA -- Students are helping raise money for needy kids in Africa. The Nguyen family has been volunteering with Thomas Paine Elementary for a few years.

Mung Nguyen went to Africa when he worked with the Peace Corps. When he returned, he wanted to keep giving back so students helped him raise more than $2,000 to send back to grade school kids there.

The students were inspired when they saw pictures of the kids in Africa. They say they were happy to help.
