PARKLAND -- School will be back in session before you know it. Parkland College students will notice a few changes.

There are some new additions. They include a bus stop and circle drive outside the student union building. The bus began making the new stop for passengers Monday.

The union has student services and a cafeteria inside. Students say the construction will benefit new students the most. Monday marks the two week deadline for students to register for classes.

CHAMPAIGN -- Registering for classes at Parkland College will be easier thanks to a brand new student union. Students can now pay their bills, see advisors and register for class all in the same place. The offices were scattered across campus before.

School leaders say the building is 15 years in the making. They hope it can help attract potential students. The building cost $34 million. A state grant covered about half the cost, college bonds paid for the rest.
